Incredible Antique Brass Adjustable 'Courting' Candlestick.

Based on a 18th Century French Courting Candlestick.

The Screw mechanism is designed for parents to measure the length of time a courting couple spend together.

When the candle burns down enough the 'date' is over.

In Excellent condition the screw moves very smoothly.

Measures 22.5cms high by 11.5cms diameter at the base.
